Hannah “Han”

Veterinary Assistant

Hannah “Han” is one of our three veterinary assistants. Han is originally from Melbourne, Florida, and moved to the Tampa Bay Area ten years ago. In 2022, they graduated from the University of South Florida in Integrative Animal Biology with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy. With a passion for animal care, Han also has pursued interests in animal education and conservation. Before Bay Animal and Aquatic, they were a tour guide at Busch Gardens, working with the giraffes and kangaroos! They are also interning at ZooTampa on behavioral research on many zoo residents like shoebill storks and tigers! Their dream is to work as a veterinarian at a zoo, and this is only the beginning of their career! They have two cats: Aladdin and Banksy and a leopard gecko named Oscar.

Sierra

Veterinary Assistant

Sierra is originally from the Chicago area, where she lived on a small farm with her family. She grew up raising and caring for chickens, cats, dogs, donkeys, ducks, guinea pigs, fish, and more! Her love for animals led her to seek a degree out of state in Florida, where she earned her B.S. in marine science at the University of Tampa in 2022. After graduating, she worked in environmental compliance for a few months before she decided that she wanted to work with animals again. Outside of the office, Sierra scuba dives as a volunteer at the Florida Aquarium. She loves playing the piano, long jogs outside, and watching shows. She is a cat enthusiast and has 2 of her own, named Oswald and Douglas (Douglas is female).

Gina

Veterinary Assistant

Gina is another one of our vet assistants here at Bay Animal and Aquatic Hospital. She is originally from Rochester, MN but moved to St. Pete 2 years ago. Over the years, her love for animals and fur babies continued to grow as she was constantly surrounded by them (mainly cats and dogs, but also farm animals up north!) Gina graduated with her A.A. in liberal arts back in Minnesota but is now looking to pursue a degree focused in vet med. She really enjoys being outside, watching various Netflix shows, and snuggling with kitties! Currently, Gina doesn’t have any pets but is hopeful that one will find her in the near future. She is an awesome dog aunty to Milo (pictured).
